Pop up Grants to celebrate 25 years of Starke County Community Foundation!
Tuesday, January 19, the Community Foundation surprised their first pop-up grant recipient, Community Services of Starke County, with a $1,000 grant. Community Services of Starke County provided a much-needed service of utility, rent, and mortgage assistance during the pandemic.
Starke County Community Foundation has supported Community Services of Starke County in the past with funds from their Starke County Emergency Relief Fund, Impact Grants, and other granting opportunities throughout the years.
“We’re really grateful that Community Services of Starke County has been able to help families with ultility, rent, and mortgage assistance, and also with the food pantry during the pandemic,” said Jessica Martinovic, SCCF Director of Development. “We’re excited to continue to give out surprise grants throughout 2021 to organizations that are doing important charitable work in our community.”
This is the first grant in the Starke County Community Foundation’s monthly year-long pop-up grant series in celebration of its 25th anniversary! The Ambassadors Club, a subcommittee created of former board members of the Community Foundation, will choose a non-profit each month whose work they wish to honor with a surprise $1,000 grant. Who will they choose next?
