15 Jun Starke County Community Foundation Awards More Than $150,000 in Scholarships

2018 Scholarship Recipients

More than $50,000 and 44 scholarships were awarded to 28 outstanding students through the Starke County Community Foundation (SCCF) this year. In addition, the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship will provide more than $107,000 for four Lilly Scholars attending college this year. The 2018 recipient of this award is Elizabeth McEntee.

A celebration of students was held at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, June 12 in North Judson. The reception provided an opportunity for scholars to meet and thank the donors who made their scholarships possible.

Sarah Origer, Director of Development for the Starke County Community Foundation, hosted the annual event that honors the accomplishments of local students and acknowledges the many people who have invested in the future of Starke County through scholarships created within the Community Foundation.

“We are incredibly happy to have the opportunity to support the students of Starke County in their future endeavors. It is the generosity of our donors that make these scholarships possible. We hope that these students will always keep Starke County close to their heart.”

The event also provided an opportunity for donors and recipients to receive an update on SCCF news.
