15 Feb Board Member Spotlight: Leigh Wright
Question: How long have you volunteered with the Miami County Community Foundation?
Answer: I started volunteering with the Miami County Community Foundation as a member of the Grants Committee in 2021, becoming a board member in 2022.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being involved with the MCCF?
A: I really enjoy learning about the many organizations serving Miami County residents, seeing the direct impact these organizations have on our community, and having the opportunity to help them accomplish their mission. MCCF’s partnership with the community is a true testament that teamwork does make the dream work.
Q: What is something you want people to know about the community foundation?
A: Giving through the MCCF is a way to ensure your gifts grow and serve locally in a huge variety of ways. We all have a cause that’s near and dear to our hearts, and there’s a good chance the MCCF has an avenue to support the cause for generations to come.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family, supporting various activities of my three girls: Palmer, Caroline, and Quinn, showing Arabian horses, and volunteering in the community- specifically with the MCCF and as a Miami County CASA.
Q: What do you love most about your community?
A: I was born and raised in Miami County, and there is absolutely nowhere else I would rather raise my family. Miami County has so much to offer, but what I love most is the people. In a larger community, it can be difficult to see the fruits of your labor, but in Miami County you’re helping a neighbor, a classmate, or a co-worker, and that ignites a unique feeling of connection that only comes with living in a small town.
