Question: How long have you worked at NICF?
A: 16 Years
Q: What is the best part of your job?
A: The people I have a chance to interact with. There are so many good people that I meet and work with on a daily basis that have an interest in making our world a better place. I have met so many amazing people through this work. I also get to see the impact volunteers have both on an individual and organizational level. We have a lot of things in our community because people are willing to give of their, time, talents, and treasures!
Q: What is something you want people to know about the foundation?
A Usually conversations that begin with a request for money lead to additional resources. When people think about the foundation it is usually related to a grant or scholarship but often these conversations turn to additional ways we can help. We often have the chance to connect people with similar causes or provide information on resources we are familiar with.
Q: What do you love most about your community?
A: The friendliness and range of recreation activities available. Prior to living in Rochester I lived in a large city for a period of time and missed the casual interactions of running into friends around the community. The willingness to help each other is also a big draw. Some of my favorite activities involve the great outdoors so the rural setting is a favorite.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: I have a wide range of activities I enjoy. Some of these include, golfing, involvement at church, leading a 4-H club, amateur radio, spending time outdoors, photography, coaching and watching youth sports, woodworking, and probably a few more. I enjoy learning to do new things!
