Community Foundation Welcomes New Director of Development
The Northern Indiana Community Foundation (NICF) has named Jacque Ryan as the Starke County Community Foundation (SCCF) Director of Development. In this position, Jacque will be working with donors to help fulfill their charitable wishes in Starke County. She will also be responsible for increasing awareness of Community Foundation services and expanding the Community Foundation’s role in enhancing the quality of life in Starke County.
Jacque graduated from Ball State University, where she studied Journalism and Sociology. She reported for WKVI and most recently served as Editor of The Leader. In this capacity, Jacque developed a strong understanding of Starke County’s needs and became very involved in various community projects and organizations.
She volunteered her time to be involved in ventures alongside the Community Foundation, including her significant role on the Constellation of Starke Executive Committee and the planning committee for The Hive Giving Circle. Jacque has also played an integral role in helping the Community Foundation to implement projects as part of their $100,000 Lilly Endowment Inc. GIFT VII grant.
Jacque also served on the Community Foundation’s volunteer board of directors for a short time before resigning in order to apply for the Director of Development position.
Jacque is a life-long Starke County resident and is eager to continue to enhance the quality of life in her home community by taking on this new role.
“I look forward to creating new community connections and building upon the existing ones in new ways,” said Jacque. “I have the utmost respect for the organization representatives who serve Starke County in so many helpful and inspiring ways. I can’t wait to work more closely with all of them and to play a role in assisting Starke County and the NICF network.”
NICF Executive Director, Jay Albright, said, “We’ve gotten to know Jacque through all the work she’s already done with the Community Foundation. She has a great knowledge of Starke County, and she’s shown her dedication to her community. We’re excited for all she will bring to our team.”
Since 1996 the Community Foundation has granted more than $8 million in grants and scholarships to students and charitable programs and projects in Starke County. Our donors have provided an asset base of more than $15 million to benefit Starke County forever.
