28 Jul SCCF Grant Helps Send Students to the Dunes
Oregon-Davis sixth graders recently took a two-night, three-day field trip to the Indiana Dunes State Park to participate in the Frog in the Bog program, where students learned about different ecosystems surrounding the Dunes. The immersive program combined hands-on learning and a travel-through-time experience that included actors as fur traders, early farmers, and Potawatomi Indians.
Oregon-Davis officials applied for grants through the Starke County Community Foundation to reduce the cost of the trip for participating students. They received a $1,500 Education Grant and $500 from the Maude Brown and Henry F. Schricker Endowment Fund.
