SCCF Ambassadors Club Awards Pop-Up Grants

The Starke County Community Foundation (SCCF) Ambassadors Club recently awarded a series of surprise pop-up grants to show appreciation to American Legion organizations that help support local veterans and assist charitable groups in the community.

On Tuesday, October 25, the American Legion organizations in Knox, North Judson and Hamlet were each awarded a $1,000 pop-up grant.

SCCF Ambassador Club members Cheryl Orkis and Barbara McLaughlin presented the pop-up grants to North Judson American Legion Post #92 Member Ron Clemons and Post Commander Matt Fox, Hamlet American Legion Post #356 Commander Kurt Simpkins, First Vice Commander Phil Mitchell and Finance Officer John Strejc, and Knox American Legion Post #720 Ladies Auxiliary Member Lori Geller, First Vice Commander Larry Baxter, and Post Commander Nick Fleck.
