14 Oct Rochester Youth Baseball Receives $27,750 Grant
The Fulton County Community Foundation granted $27,750 to the Rochester Youth Baseball League. Funds will be used to replace the major league dugouts with new concrete dugouts equip with metal roofs. After several years of use by approximately 300 kids each season, the dugouts’ roofs and fencing became a safety concern. To keep costs down for their participants, the youth baseball board applied for an impact grant through the Fulton County Community Foundation.
“Every dollar of enrollment comes right back out in umpires, baseballs, and equipment costs. If we have to increase the cost, that makes it a lot less affordable for parents. We want to keep that cost low,” said Board President Kyle McLochlin. “The game of baseball is a small aspect compared to what the league does for kids as a whole.”
