Ole Olsen Memorial Theater Receives Grant for Director Training Workshops

The Miami County Community Foundation has awarded a $1,098 grant to Ole Olsen Memorial Theater in support of The Director’s Handbook, a new initiative designed to train and empower future community theater directors. The grant was awarded from the Miami County Community Fund.

This new program will offer free fall and spring workshops, each featuring six one-hour evening sessions, open to anyone age 18 or older who wants to learn how to direct. Participants will receive guidance from a team of experienced directors, gaining hands-on knowledge in areas such as casting, rehearsals, set design, and script selection. Attendees will also receive a handbook to keep as a resource for future productions.

This grant was made possible by generous donors to the Miami County Community Fund. Currently, every dollar donated to this fund is matched with an additional $2, tripling the impact of your gift. Donations support meaningful projects like this one that enrich community life and create opportunities for education and creativity.
