15 Dec Marcia Minard Receives Lifetime Philanthropy Award
Marcia Minard was awarded the Miami County Community Foundation’s Lifetime Philanthropy Award at the foundation’s annual Giving Tuesday event on November 28. The award honors outstanding individuals and organizations that positively impact their community through philanthropic efforts.
“There is not a day in [Marcia’s] life, for as long as I’ve known her, that she is not working to make someone’s life better,” said Heidi Wright, MCCF Director. “Judging by her tireless work ethic, not only was she raised to work, she is filled with and by a spirit that calls her to serve.”
Minard has served on the community foundation’s boards and committees for over 12 years and in a variety of roles from scholarships committee to Miami County community board president and others. In 2016, Minard and family founded the M & M Give Back Community Fund, which helps generate a pool of grant money available to charitable organizations that work to make our community a better place for everyone.
“It has been an honor to serve on the community foundation,” said Minard. “It’s awesome what we do for the community, and what the community does for the foundation. It’s a win-win for all of us.”
As part of the honor, Minard’s name is now on an engraved plaque that was added to the Tree of Giving (pictured) located at the Northern Indiana Community Foundation’s main office.
