Junior Achievement (JA) Serving Starke County will reach even more students this year thanks to a $6,160 grant from the Starke County Community Foundation.

The grant will support 14 classroom programs during the 2025–2026 school year, reaching approximately 245 students at Knox, North Judson-San Pierre, and Oregon-Davis schools. Through hands-on lessons and simulations, students will learn how to manage money, explore careers, and think like entrepreneurs—skills that prepare them for life beyond the classroom.
JA has partnered with Starke County schools since 1988, helping fill critical gaps in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness education. With Indiana now requiring financial literacy for graduation, the need for these programs is greater than ever.
“Financial literacy is critical for youth in Starke County as they prepare to make real-world decisions about money, careers, and their futures. Thanks to this investment, students will gain the essential skills they need to build brighter financial futures,” said Jessica Hilary, Regional Development Director for Junior Achievement.
This grant was made possible by donors who give to community funds at the Starke County Community Foundation. And right now, gifts to these funds are being matched $2 for every $1 donated, tripling the impact of every gift.
