Hoosier Solar Donation Kicks Off SCCF Matching Campaign

The Starke County Community Foundation (SCCF) is thrilled to announce that Hoosier Solar has pledged a generous $35,000 donation to kick off the Foundation’s Community Fund matching campaign, establishing a permanent Hoosier Solar Community Fund.

The SCCF currently has a matching opportunity that triples Community Fund donations by matching every dollar donated by two additional dollars. This means that Hoosier Solar’s donation of $35,000 will be tripled to $105,000. The Foundation aims to raise $355,000 by the end of 2025. This means that Hoosier Solar’s donation meets approximately 10-percent of the goal – a tremendous start to the matching campaign!

Community Funds generate a pool of flexible grant dollars that are used to help address the most pressing local needs. The Hoosier Solar fund will be dedicated to bolstering our local community funds used for important projects, community-based organizations, and services.

These include, but are not limited to: Community Services of Starke County, Toyz for Kids which helps out local families around the holidays, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, an organization that helps provide mobile food pantry distributions throughout the county, the Starke County Historical Society, local emergency service agencies like fire departments, police stations and EMS, and many other local charitable organizations.

We are very excited that this partnership with Hoosier Solar will create a new fund that will allow us to continue supporting so many important projects and programs throughout our county,” said SCCF Director of Development Jacque Ryan. “These community funds combined with the dollars generated through the matching campaign will provide more resources than ever to address the most pressing needs in Starke County!”

Director Ryan continued, “We are very thankful for community partnerships like this and look forward to continuing our work with local organizations to keep Starke County vibrant and thriving for years to come.”

This partnership underscores Hoosier Solar’s lasting commitment to collaborating with local businesses and organizations to address community needs.

“We are proud to support the Starke County Community Foundation’s efforts to strengthen our community,” said Larry Wickert, Starke County Representative for Hoosier Solar. “Hoosier Solar is committed to responsible solar farm development by partnering with neighbors and communities to invest in a strong legacy for future generations.  By partnering with the Foundation, we can collectively help address pressing local needs and build a brighter future for Starke County as we deliver American-made power.”
