The Miami County Community Foundation (MCCF) supports many areas of need. One of these areas of giving is the arts. Since inception, the MCCF has given nearly $80,000 in grants to support the arts in Miami County.

Additionally, many funds have been established through the MCCF to provide funding for local arts programs. These funds vary greatly and include the Peru Arts and Culture Fund, the Quigley Memorial Jazz Festival Fund, the Maconaquah Fine Arts Foundation Fund, and the Tony Hare Photojournalism Scholarship Fund, among many others!

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the MCCF is awarding pop-up grants to local nonprofit organizations throughout 2018. This month, the MCCF’s pop-up grants were given to art and music programs at local schools.

In total, these programs received $1,500 in grants. The following programs were presented with a grant: Maconaquah Elementary music program, Peru Junior High art program, and North Miami Elementary arts programs.

Maconaquah Elementary will use its grant to purchase fifteen ukuleles for its third and fourth grade students. Peru Junior High School’s grant will help with the purchase of clay for students’ sculpture projects. North Miami Elementary will upgrade its kiln and clay items with its grant.

The MCCF hopes that these grants will help to foster children’s interest in the arts and will help to provide local students with opportunities to express themselves through art and music.
