15 Dec Board Member Spotlight: Marcia Minard
Question: How long have you volunteered with the foundation?
Answer: I started volunteering with MCCF in 2011 when I was asked to be a member of the grants committee. In 2012, I became a board member and have expanded my involvement by participating on other committees
with MCCF and NICF.
Q: What do you most enjoy about being a board member?
A: I enjoy the opportunity to make a positive difference in our community. As a group we have the ability to network with other organizations and gain additional resources not only in our community but in the state to be able to accomplish more.
Q: What is something you want people to know about the community foundation?
A: We are here to help our families and community have a long-term, positive impact forever. Whether you have a small gift to offer or are fortunate to offer a larger gift, together those gifts grow. Our list of grant giving and scholarship support for a small community is impressive. And we look forward to offering more. Be a part of a lasting legacy!
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I love spending time with my family. My husband and I are blessed with two sons and wonderful daughter-in-laws. We have six grandchildren, with another due soon, as well as two great-grandchildren. I enjoy walking, hiking, camping, and volunteering to help others.
Q: What do you love most about your community?
A: I have always lived in Miami County. We pull together to help and support each other. My parents, Rex & Juanita Mays, taught me the simple things in life can mean the most. You don’t know what someone else is going through, so share a smile, open a door, offer a helping hand, and say a prayer. Be a cheerful memory in someone’s day. We have so many people in our community who are a blessing to others.
