A member-supported service of the Elkhart Community Schools, 88.1 WVPE is a public radio station serving 17 counties in north central Indiana and southwest Michigan with a total population of more than 1,000,000. Our mission is to inform, entertain and inspire the communities we serve through programming, services and events thereby creating a more enlightened public. From our humble beginning in 1972 as a student-run broadcast lab, we have become the area’s only National Public RadioTM member station, carrying NPR news, jazz, blues and folk music, plus entertaining weekend programming. The support from ECCF will enable the station to make key technology upgrades.
