LaCasa helps families to build a better life, helping them move from crisis to stability, thereby creating safe, attractive and economically stable neighborhoods. We believe our work in rehabilitating older city neighborhoods is important to the inner city and downtowns of Goshen and Elkhart. Rebuilding in established neighborhoods provides affordable housing to first-time home buyers. In 2009 the City of Goshen and LaCasa were granted Neighborhood Stabilization Program funding to purchase, rehab and resell 22 abandoned, foreclosed and uninhabitable properties. ECCF’s grant enables us to complete the final five homes; three will be demolished, while two will be completely rehabbed.
