ECMA is a consortium of the county’s museums whose mission is to promote collections and facilities that illustrate, interpret and preserve art, culture, education and history.Due to constraints on school transportation budgets, students were missing out on field trips and museums were losing field trip revenue. Consequently ECMA created a privately funded program to provide free field trips to resident 3rd-5th grade students to any of our 20 county museums. ECCF’s three-year support will help establish this transformative educational program with the funds providing field trip admissions and student transportation stipends. Classroom lessons will have real-life applications through a sense of aesthetic beauty, historic meaning and scientific purpose for 9,000 students annually.
