The Boy Scouts of America provide a program for young people across the nation that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. The BSA LaSalle Council serves over 7,500 youth and 230 units in eight counties across Indiana and Michigan. The council has over 2,000 volunteer adults, who provide the scouting program to local youth, maintaining a 1:4 adult-to-youth ratio. The ECCF funding supports the scout outreach of the Cub Scout Program for first through third graders in four Elkhart Elementary Schools.
